About Instylan
INSTYLAN is a sterile hyaluronic acid-based solution specifically designed to restore and protect the bladder's mucosal lining. It is instilled directly into the bladder, helping to:
-
Repair and reinforce the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer, which is often damaged in recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and interstitial cystitis.
-
Reduce bladder inflammation and irritation, providing symptomatic relief such as reduced pain, urgency, and frequency.
-
Lower recurrence rates of UTIs by creating a protective barrier that limits bacterial adhesion and penetration.

Who is Instylan for?
Patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the bladder.
Recurrent UTI's, painful bladder syndrome and cystitis.
Patients who receive radiation therapy for the pelvic area.
Patients after cystoscopy, urethroscopy, TUR.

Mechanism of action
When placed into the cavity of the bladder, Instylan creates a viscoelastic film on the surface of the mucous membrane. Due to the specific characteristics of the Hyaluronic Acid, the basic substance creates a a robust GAG layer to replenish the bladder mucous lining, in the interstitial space of the connective tissue.

Indications
Irrigation provides temporary protection and restoration of the mucous membrane of the bladder in case of:
Chronic / recurrent cystitis
Interstitial cystitis
Hyperactive bladder
Recurrent UTIs
Radiation cystitis
